Varieties of brushes
1. Commode Brush
Purpose: Cleans toilets.
Handle: Made from a cylindrical wooden stick, usually 45 cm (18 inches) long and 4 cm (1.5 inches) in diameter.
Bristle Area: The last 11 cm (4.5 inches) of the stick.
Bristles:
The first 6 cm of the bristle area are completely covered with coir fiber, with no gaps.
The next 5 cm have coir fiber bristles arranged in four rows around the stick.
Bristle Height: Bristles stick out about 3 cm (1.25 inches).
Fiber Quality: Fine quality coir fiber is typically used.
2. Banister Brush
Common Use: Primarily used in railways, automobile industries, and cotton spinning mills for cleaning machinery.
Handle:
Starts as a cylindrical wooden piece, 23 cm long with a 5 cm diameter.
One end is narrowed for 12 cm to reduce its circumference.
Bristle Area: The 23 cm portion is flattened for drilling holes.
Bristles:
Coir fiber tufts are placed in four rows.
They are about 7 cm long.
Fiber Quality: Second-quality coir fiber is used.
3. Floor Sweeping Brush
Purpose: Used for sweeping floors.
Handle: Features a long stick, about 140 cm long.
Brush Head: The wooden part where the fibers are attached measures 30 x 5 x 4 cm.
Bristles:
Coir fiber tufts extend out about 8 cm from the holes.
Fiber Quality: Fine quality coir fiber is usually preferred because the bristles are longer.
